Bernice "Batya" Berlin
Bernice "Batya" Berlin, 87, of Southfield, Michigan, died on 13 December 2013. The Funeral was held at The David Oppenheim Memorial Chapel at Machpelah Cemetery, 21701 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220 on Monday, 16 December 2013 at 10:00 AM . Family members include: Beloved wife of 51 years of the late Dr. Allen Berlin. Cherished mother of Jonathan (Barrie Balter) Berlin of New York, Daniel (Carol) Berlin of New Jersey, and Sarah Berlin of West Bloomfield. Loving grandmother of Jessica Berlin, Rebecca (Avi Novick) Berlin, Benjamin Berlin and David Berlin. Dear sister of Edna (Seelig) Lewitz of New Jersey. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family will be gathering at Temple Israel on Monday beginning at 4:00 p.m. Religious services will be held Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Berlin was a long-time family therapist and a teacher of Torah for many years at Temple Israel. She studied with Rabbinic scholars here and at Kallot at every opportunity.
