Garry Kappy
Garry Kappy, 98, of West Bloomfield, Michigan and Boca Raton, Florida, died on 23 December 2023. The Funeral was held at The Davidson/Hermelin Chapel at Clover Hill Park, 2425 14 Mile Rd, Birmingham MI 48009 on Tuesday, 26 December 2023 at 11:30 AM . The family of Garry Kappy will be gathering through the evening of Wednesday, December 27 at the residence of Irvin and Barbara Kappy, 4464 S. Bay Drive, Orchard Lake MI 48323. Family and friends will be gathering on Tuesday immediately following the interment until 4:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Religious services will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Shiva will continue at the residence in Florida, 4101 N. Ocean Blvd., Boca Raton, FL 33431. Family and friends will be gathering at the Florida residence on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Religious services will be held on Thursday and Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Family members include: He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Irvin (Barbara) Kappy and Ira (Ilse) Kappy; grandchildren Brandon (Andrea) Kappy and Michelle Kappy. He was the beloved husband of the late Viola Kappy, son of the late Joseph and Rochel Kaplanski, devoted brother to his late siblings Israel (Molly) Kaplansky, Frank (Sarah) Kappy, Leah Zuker, Freida (Chaim) Weinberg, Esther Anielewicz, Cesia Baumgarten and Genia Silverberg. He was adored by loving nieces and nephews in Detroit and Toronto, as well as his devoted friends in Detroit and Florida. He was a remarkable Holocaust survivor who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
