Ralph SosinRalph Sosin, 94, of Franklin, Michigan, died on 15 October 2023. The Memorial Service was held at IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL on Thursday, 19 October 2023 at 11:00 AM . Rabbi Michael Moskowitz officiated. Click to watch a video of the recorded service. Interment at Franklin Cemetery.
The family of Ralph Sosin will be gathering through the evening of Thursday, October 19 at the residence, 26075 Woodlore, Franklin MI 48025. Family and friends will be gathering on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Ralph Sosin, long-time attorney and loving husband and father, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 94. His law career spanned many decades beginning in 1952 and continuing through the 2000s. Ralph witnessed eleven different decades of history, seeing many changes and challenges and trials. He was devoted to his family, his work, and his friends. Ralph is survived by his three children Robert (Cecilia) Sosin, David (Lisa) Sosin, and Nancy (CJ) Johnston. Six grandchildren were a big part of his life: Nathan (Susanne) Sosin, Julia Sosin (Ben Christensen), Tim (Hannah) Sosin, Jeffrey (Sydnee) Johnston, Jacob Johnston, and Joshua (Jordan) Sosin. Great-grandchildren include Robert Sosin (3 1/2), MaxineSosin (1), and Eli Christensen (1). Anita, wife of 63 years, passed prior in 2020. Sister Janet Guggenheim is his remaining sibling. Throughout life, Ralph enjoyed traveling, tennis, golf, good food, and songs. He was both the serious lawyer and the loving dad. Age softened him. He grew in appreciation and love for his family and in his expression of love to them. Well-read, thoughtful, and up-to-date, Ralph knew what he thought and was clear on what he felt to be right and true. He lived with a high value for integrity and honesty. Coming up on 60 years as a resident of Franklin, MI, Ralph served in various years on the Birmingham School Board and Franklin Village Council. He cared about his community.
