Richard Leland
Richard Leland, 95, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, died on 11 October 2023. The Funeral was held at Graveside at Beth El Memorial Park, 28120 W 6 Mile Rd, Livonia MI 48152 on Thursday, 12 October 2023 at 2:00 PM . Rabbi Megan Brudney officiated. The family of Richard Leland will be gathering through the afternoon of Friday, October 13 at the residence of Dr. Barnet and Marcy Leland, 3629 Valleyview Lane, West Bloomfield MI 48323. Family and friends will be gathering on Thursday from 5:30-9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Religious services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Leland is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Myrle Leland; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Barnet and Marcy Leland; daughter, Ilyse Leland; son, Dr. Robert Leland; grandchildren, Lauren and Josh Brand, Jason Leland, Ayton Leland, Kyra Leland, Ethan Leland, and Calder Leland; great-grandchildren, Ava Brand and Owen Brand. He is also survived by many loving relatives, friends, cherished colleagues, and students. Richard was the proud son of the late Barnet and the late Ida Leland. Also preceded in death by his doting sisters, Sylvia (Bernie) Bielous, Beatrice Leland, Hilda Levitan. Richard was a lifelong student and educator. He enjoyed traveling the world and the pursuit of the next adventure. He wished his long life be celebrated far more than his passing mourned.
