Geraldine "Gerry" Finegold
Geraldine "Gerry" Finegold, 95, of Oak Park, Michigan, died on 17 June 2023. The Funeral was A PRIVATE FAMILY GRAVESIDE SERVICE on Tuesday, 20 June 2023 at 10:00 AM . The family of Geraldine "Gerry" Finegold will be gathering through the evening of Wednesday, June 21 at the residence of Natalie and Glenn Lapin, 26335 Huntington, Huntington Woods MI 48070. Family and friends will be gathering on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Religious services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Family members include: Cherished mother of Natalie (Glenn) Lapin and Richard (Rita O'Laughlin) Finegold. Proud grandmother of Andrew (Anna Megdell) Lapin, Michelle (the late Stephen) Kay, Jill (Tony Grinshpan) Finegold, Matthew (Mallory) Rose, and Robert (Tina Wozniak) Finegold. Adoring great-grandmother of Jeffrey and Rachel Rose. Devoted daughter of the late Mary and the late Samuel Tennebaum. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends. She was a mother, teacher and school psychologist. Associations to which she belonged included: National Association of School Psychologists, American Federation of Teachers, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel and Institute for Retired Persons as well as the Jewish Community Center. Ms. Finegold was employed as a teacher by Tuscon Public Schools and Detroit Public Schools. She was a consultant in Leaning Disabilities and Emotional Impairment for Royal Oak Schools. She worked as a school psychologist for Wayne Intermediate, Oak Park and Macomb Intermediate School Districts. She earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Wayne State University and University of Detroit, in addition to Education Specialist from Wayne State University. Post degree work was also completed.
